Welcome to United Nations Yak  Community...

Where we yak about development and humanitarian issues and progress in achieving the Millennium Development Goals set by the UN to end poverty in 2015

Through our interviews, we focus on gathering information from all levels - from villages through not for profits and other social entrepreneurs at work at local levels; reflections from the top, e.g. Heads of Agencies, private sector, the entertainment industry and other decision makers sharing their views and vision; and from those who have worked on social and humanitarian issues and are examining new ideas and opportunities for going forward; all with the aim of supporting the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals.

In addition to yakking, we share with you books, materials, newsfeeds, etc.,  that influence lives and thinking to contribute to efforts to create a better world, not only in English, but also in the other official languages of the UN - French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Chinese.

The 44th President of the United States, President Barack Obama, is committed to working towards the furthering of international relations and multilateralism;  the Yakkers' Corner is a contributing environment to support the  intention of the global community in creating a better world with understanding, tolerance and mutual respect.

Knowing, being informed, and informing ourselves and each other about the UN would facilitate constructive dialogue in a world seeking peace and sustainable development.
